The Annals of Saint Anne
Welcome to the Annals of Saint Anne!
The Annals of Saint Anne is published by the Shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, a famous Canadian pilgrimage site, whose origins go back to 1658, near the St. Lawrence River, 35 kilometres east of Québec City.
The Annals of Saint Anne, published 6 times a year, is a Popular Catholic Magazine with reflections and spirituality, news from the Shrine, culture and society, art and history. The Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and its works of art are highlighted in texts and images. The magazine reaches thousands of pilgrims and friends of Good Saint Anne and the Shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré.
The Shrine also publishes a magazine in French: Revue Sainte Anne. In 2022, we celebrate 150 years of publication.
The Revue Sainte Anne, first known as the Annales de la Bonne Sainte Anne, was founded in 1873 by Father Nazaire-Alphonse Leclerc. Since 1898, the magazine has been published by the Redemptorists, a religious community founded in Italy by Saint Alphonsus of Liguori and established in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré since 1878.
The Revue Sainte Anne and The Annals of Saint Anne are available in print and digital versions.

It is well known that a simple encounter, a yes or a no, can change your whole life! On the other hand, a moment of inattentiveness and life can be disrupted, altered or even broken. We are so fragile. However, from our earliest childhood, we learn to take risks, to put ourselves completely off balance by trying to take our first step when learning towalk. Life never stops pushing us forward with its expectations and restraints. And then, in notime at all, we will have conquered one season after another.
Wanting to Pray
Have you ever noticed how our desire for something is often more exciting than actually obtaining it? Or to express this more generally, there is often a gap, or even a chasm, between what a person might want and the fulfillment of that want.
A simple example: I really like donuts though very cautious about over indulgence. Nonetheless, I occasionally hit the right combination of craving and being at a place where I can easily obtain one. To be honest, the actual eating of the donut is a denouement compared to the anticipation.
