Death of centenary nun Christiane Sibillotte

A few months after celebrating her 101st birthday, the religious sister Christiane Sibillotte passed away in Montreal on December 22nd, 2017.

Born in Paris, she obtained a degree in pharmacy before entering the novitiate of the Soeurs auxiliatrices in1939. Sent to Quebec to establish her religious congregation, she became a pharmacist at the Pharmacy of Pointe-Saint-Charles, one of the poorest neighborhoods in Montreal.

In 1995, at the age of 79, the pharmacy nun wanted to participate in the women's march against poverty, a journey of 200 kilometers. She was the oldest of the women who took part in this walk called the March of Bread and Roses.
