Learn moreHistorically speaking, we know very little about Saint Anne. The Bible says nothing about her, whereas other writings that circulated in the early Church speak about her at great length.
Learn moreAll around me, there is so much to see each day. Behind the cold, austere and distant faces, lives are hidden. Sadness and happiness are concealed under appearances. However, a simple glance, a smile or a wink, a caring gesture or words of kindness can change everything. That is all it takes to restore hope and happiness, to inspire and to invite you to take one step further. It is so easy to pass by without seeing anything, to continue on your way without paying attention to others, to act as if nothing has happened. In other words, it is so easy to think only of yourself. How many times have I forgotten to greet someone, to stop and talk or to say thank you?
Since 1964, when the Second Vatican Council called for the restoration of the permanent diaconate in the Church, many deacons have been ordained in our dioceses. We see them in various settings: assisting the priest at Mass and preaching, presiding at Liturgies of the Word that include baptisms, weddings and funerals and participating in parish leadership teams. Perhaps, we know some men who have been ordained to the diaconate and have had the occasion to listen to them speak of their ministry.
